CEO’s Unfathomable Gifted Wife Chapter 39

Capter 39 Truth and Punishment

“What are you arguing about?”

Leyla ate the entire bowl of noodles and drank every drop

›f soup.

She hadn’t tasted such deliciousness in a long time, even hough it was just a bowl of simple noodles.

Leyla felt a little more identification with this adopted daughter.

She frowned when she saw the nanny and Rosie block Coral’s door.

“They wronged me for stealing things,” Coral said to Ley- la, but her tone was very plain and there was no sign of asking for help.

Leyla was taken aback.

“…What’s missing at home?”

Hearing the hostess’ question, the nanny Darbi jumped out and pointed at Coral like a witness.

“Mrs. Clowde, just now Miss Coral admitted to using the flour in the kitchen. Although she said she ate it for making noodles, the flour was missing two full pounds. Miss Coral is not an animal, so how can she have such a big appetite?”

The nanny paused for a while, and then said with some experience: “I suspect that Miss Coral is hoarding our import- ed flour and selling it at a low price…”

She rambled on and on but didn’t notice that Leyla’s ex- pression was getting worse and worse.

Leyla slowly put down the bowl in her hand, her eyes as cold as ice.

“You said animal?” Leyla’s voice seemed to come out of

her teeth.

“That’s right! Unless she’s an animal, how can it be possi- ble to eat so much flour in one meal?” The nanny’s face was full of smiles, but she gradually felt that something was wrong. Leyla’s eyes were sharp, but why was it directed at her and not at Coral who was stealing things?

Leyla came from a prestigious family and was well-edu-

cated.

But even so, she still wanted to put the noodle bowl on the nanny’s head just now!

Even though because she married Odin Clowde on a whim, her family gradually alienated her, no one had ever dared to speak rudely in front of Leyla.

She ate a bowl of noodles, but being scolded as an ani- mal? And the scolding was from the nanny?

“Coral, the noodles are delicious, thank you,” Leyla spoke slowly to Coral.

Alas, it wasn’t the harsh reprimands Rosie and the nanny had expected, but the gentle thanks.

“You’re welcome.” Coral stared at Leyla for a moment, then looked at the empty bowl she had set aside. Then Coral

said coldly and arrogantly, “This is your bowl, wash it your- self.”

“…OK.” Leyla frowned, feeling a little depressed and even aggrieved.

She helped Coral clear her guilt, and even got scolded for her, why didn’t this girl know how to be grateful?

Coral had no parents to raise her since she was a child. Could it be that she was born to be arrogant?

The nanny and Rosie also understood what was going on!

Especially the nanny, she didn’t forget that besides being lazy and not cooking for Coral, she even saved Leyla’s share.

Leyla drank earlier so Darbi thought she would sleep until dawn. After all, every time Leyla and Claire drank, they were drunk and unconscious.

The nanny was too frightened to speak, and Rosie said in disbelief, “Mom…you ate what Coral cooked for you?”

Coral’s cooking skills could even satisfy her mom’s tongue?

Rosie asked, but smelled the aroma in the air, and imme- diately recalled the noodles that whet her appetite.

She stared at Darbi suspiciously, as if asking, ‘shouldn’t this be cooked by you’?

“Coral is good at cooking.” Leyla pressed her lips as if re- calling the taste.

“Rosie, you should learn more from Coral. You can’t even

do housework when you grow up so much. Now you have a chance, help me wash the bowl.”

After Leyla finished speaking, she didn’t look at Rosie’s crying face and turned to the nanny again.

“I’m very disappointed with you. Half of your salary is de- ducted this month.”
