Chapter 418 Show Them My Belly 

Ormand was speechless.

But there was nothing he could do since Viola was angry. Therefore, he had to go back to the sofa and get back to work reluctantly.

The room quieted down, with neither of them saying anything anymore.

The sound of typing and the rustle of writing on paper blended together perfectly.

After another two hours, Fernanda showed up at the door again. But, this time, instead of pushing the door open, she waited outside for Viola to come out.

“Ms. McGraw, there will be a shareholder meeting in fifteen minutes. All the directors are waiting in the conference hall now.”

“All right. I will be there soon.”

Viola locked the computer screen while glancing at Ormand, who was writing notes on the sofa intently. Then Viola got up and went to the conference hall without disturbing Ormand.

Noticing Viola was here, all the directors looked serious. There was something subtle in the air.

Everyone cast Viola a stern gaze, especially Chace, who had just come to Viola’s office.

Viola noticed it, but she just brushed it aside and calmly announced that the regular meeting had started.

Despite the meeting being excruciatingly boring, which was mainly about reports on sales for the month, project progress, and so on, it lasted for one and a half hours.

Viola felt a bit tired, but she kept it to herself while continuing to listen carefully.

Finally, the meeting came to an end. She then asked, “Does anyone have anything to say? If not, let’s call it a day.”

Most of the directors started to sort out their stuff, ready to leave. But Chace raised his hand and stood up.

“Ms. McGraw, I went to your office earlier today, and I found that Mr. Hobson was there as well. What were you doing in there with him? You should have met me instead!”

Everyone was shocked.

They, their eyes wide open, looked at Chace, impressed by his boldness.

Chace was actually questioning Viola in front of so many people about her messing around with her boyfriend. How daring!

Viola raised her eyes, which were cold, and replied nonchalantly, not feeling embarrassed at all, “Mr. Downey, we’ll get married next week. What else do you think a pair of soon–to–be husband and wife could do?”

Chace looked furious. “As the CEO of the company, you should be ashamed of yourself for messing around in the office. But instead, you look as if you’re doing the right thing.

“For a person like you, wanton and carefree, why should we trust you with the McGraw Group?”

Viola slammed the table, and a bang sounded. People trembled in fear because of that.

When Viola was angry, she would look fierce and strong.

“Or maybe we should trust you with the company instead? But I wonder how many days you can stay in that position?

“What’s wrong with flirting a bit? You, on the other hand, were the one who was in the wrong. By bringing this matter to a meeting like this, you are actually meddling in my affairs, showing no respect for your boss, and being undisciplined.

“What’s more, am I really wanton and carefree like you said? I mean, I’ve only been in my position for a few days, and you are already foretelling the company’s future! What are your grounds for that? Are you a fortuneteller?”

People sneered in low voices upon hearing that.

“You’re being irrational.”

Chace’s face twisted in anger. He had only said a couple of sentences, but Viola dissed him nonstop due to that. In Chace’s eyes, that was Viola being presumptuous to him.

Viola snorted and glared at him.

“Mr. Downey, just because you are a senior with a high position in the company for thirty years doesn’t mean you are the law here. I won’t give in to you as Bobby did! And I’ll impose punishment for what you did today according to the rules.”

“Viola!”

Chace was so angry that he gritted his teeth. “How dare you punish me a few days after you took office? I mean, even your father has to show respect for me.”

Are you surprised?”

Viola raised her eyebrows and smiled casually, “Don’t you know that new leaders tend to want to take things very seriously? Plus, it’s you who provoked me. You can’t blame me for that.”

Chace was not resigned to it. Therefore, he got back to the topic of Ormand.

“Viola, over the past couple of days you were at work here, you took Mr. Hobson daily to your office. I mean, Mr. Hobson is the CEO of the Hobson Group and one of our competitors. I suspect that you have breached the rules yourself, leaking our company’s confidential information.”

Leaking confidential information was indeed a serious matter.

Due to that, all the directors became serious all at once, and the conference hall was reduced to seriousness.

Viola, on the other hand, looked nonchalant. Actually, she was so close to telling them that she also showed Ormand all the documents she had.

But she knew the consequences of bringing that up.

Maybe that would cause her the position and make all the stockholders want to kick her out right away.

“Mr. Downey, I am pregnant. They are twins.”

Chace froze right off, unable to figure out what she was doing.

Viola continued, “My doctor has said that, since this is the first time that I am pregnant, not to mention they are

twins, I have to take extra care of the babies. That’s why Ormand is here. He is here to take care of us. Do you think I should report this to you as well?”

His face turned pale, and he was lost for words.

The other directors, on the other hand, hurried to congratulate Viola a bit.

“Congratulations, Ms. McGraw! How nice! That is a truly blessed event.”

“Right. Mr. Hobson should be here since Ms. McGraw is pregnant.”

Due to that, Chace got even angrier. But he simply could not say anything.

Viola snorted, her eyes turning cold. “Mr. Downey keeps challenging me today. It looks like I’ve imposed a punishment that is too light!”

Chace was resigned to accepting the doubled punishment, which was actually something he asked for.

Viola was displeased due to the whole drama. Therefore, when she was back in her office, her face was very gloomy.

The moment she entered, Ormand sensed that gloom.

Therefore, he stopped making notes and looked up while asking, “Viola? Did the meeting go wrong?”

“Yes. Chace, that old bastard, had provoked me!”

Ormand smiled, “Did you teach him a lesson?”

Viola pointed at her stomach, her face full of pride. ‘I must teach him a lesson for two babies here! When I am more months pregnant, I’ll show them my belly whenever they act arrogant!”

Ormand laughed and got up to carry Viola, who was by the door, back to the sofa before sitting down and latching onto her while making her happy.

Viola was soon cheerful again. But then, she thought of something important.

“How is your note–making going? Are you done? How much more is left?”

Viola started to push him.

Ormand, who was about to kiss her, stopped, his handsome face stiffening.
