Arcady, a thief, makes a life on the streets of Vatra. Arcady takes a powerful artifact from the bones of the Plaguebringer, the most despised person in Lumet’s history, out of desperation. Only Arcady understands that the artifact’s enchantment contains the secret to a new life among the nobility at court, as well as a chance for vengeance.

The spell connects with Everen, the only male dragon prophesied to save his race, and drags him through the Veil. Everen, disguised as a human, quickly learns that to reclaim his actual strength and form and achieve his destiny, he simply has

About The Author

R Lam (also known as Laura Lam) was raised by two former Haight-Ashbury hippies near San Francisco, California. They both encouraged Lam to colour beyond the lines and to think of the library as a second home. They relocated to Scotland in 2009 and miss the sun at times.

They are the author of Dragonfall, Goldilocks, Seven Devils and Seven Mercies (co-written with Elizabeth May), False Hearts (a BBC radio 2 book club selection), Shattered Minds (an Amazon editor’s book of the month), and the award-winning Micah Grey trilogy (Pantomime, Shadowplay, Masquerade). Under the pen name Laura Ambrose, they also write nerdy f/f romance.
